If you had the time to post this kind of mindless reply then you could have helped the OP. Yes I was able to adjust to the GEN 3 via the registry edit trick. As for game performance so far I've only been running the cards in PCIE 3.0, playing Far Cry 3.OP this is not normal for folks here on ROG I apologise for the rudeness. Performance seems to be fine, no issue's with shuttering etc...Try right click force-enable-gen3and run it as Administrator. To disable it, clean install the Nvidia driver or open a command line as Administrator in the location of force-enable-gen3and run force-enable-gen3-revert. I have a GTX770 in route, hopefully it'll be here before the weekend is thru...being that the X79 boards only truly have a single x16 PCIe slot I am curious to see if I will have the same problem using a single card? not to run sli until or even if I move to X99 upon release... I think you are not understanding how the addition of extra PCIe cards impacts lane speed. I think you are not understanding how the addition of extra PCIe cards impacts lane speed.that chipset is supposed to be fully ready to jump on at release.

Hi Guys, Running Rampage IV Extreme with 2 x Geforce GTX Titans installed SLI.
I've just run GPU Z and I see that Bus Interface is set to: PCI-E2.0 How do I get it to run at 3.0? Not to sure of BIOS revision its not the latest but not the oldest. Cheers I believe Nodens posted a warning about NVIDIA cards and PCIE 3.0 here in the forum-driver/functionality degradation over time no matter what.
This is why nvidia is disabling GEN3 globally in the driver, for this platform, in the first place.
If you get an IB-E CPU that is actually certified for GEN3 (instead of SB-E which is just "capable") then you should be fine for GEN3.
